With the NFL season right around the corner, there is a ton of anticipation from every fanbase. For the teams in New York, expectations are high for each of the individual squads. The Buffalo Bills have won the AFC East in three consecutive seasons, the New York Jets acquired four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers, and the New York Giants are coming off of their first playoff appearance since the Eli Manning days. Anticipation naturally leads to NFL player prop bets while we wait for the preseason to play out.

With each New York team boasting rosters with high-flying talent, there are seemingly endless player props out there with good odds to take. In fact, some players are even involved in discussions to lead the league in certain statistical categories. Here are some of the best NFL player prop bets to consider for the New York NFL teams ahead of the season.

Bills Player Prop Bet: Stefon Diggs Leads NFL in Receiving TDs (+1000)

It is no secret that the Bills have one of the better offenses in the NFL. Quarterback Josh Allen has led the charge with receiver Stefon Diggs as his right-hand man for three straight seasons. In each of those years, Buffalo has had tremendous regular season success.

There is no indication that Diggs’ role as the No. 1 receiving option is in jeopardy. In each of Diggs’ three seasons with the Bills, the number of touchdowns he caught increased. In three seasons in Buffalo, Diggs has 29 receiving touchdowns, and 11 of them came in 2022.

The competition Diggs is facing is tough. Justin Jefferson, Cooper Kupp, Travis Kelce, and Ja’Marr Chase are all favored over Diggs to lead the NFL in receiving touchdowns. So, there is steep competition for the NFL’s receiving touchdown leader. However, Diggs is a threat all over the field, and his chemistry with Allen is unmatched. It is not unreasonable to think Diggs can hold the receiving touchdown crown. These odds at Caesars Sportsbook make this prop quite enticing.

Jets Player Prop Bet: Aaron Rodgers Over 3,800.5 Passing Yards (-112)

The expectations are super high for Aaron Rodgers with the Jets. The four-time MVP comes to an organization hungry for competitive football, and Rodgers can certainly provide that–even at 39 years old.

Rodgers’ 2022 campaign was not what we have come to expect from the future Hall of Famer. The quarterback threw for 3,695 yards, which is his lowest mark since 2017 (when he played just seven games). In a change of scenery and with a ton of weapons, expect Rodgers to exceed that number and ultimately get close to 4,000 passing yards.

Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks the NFL has ever seen. The veteran has great weapons in New York this season too, headlined by the 2022 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year in Garrett Wilson. Plus, Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard joined Rodgers in New York. Not to mention the Jets just inked running back Dalvin Cook to a one-year deal.

The 3,800.5 passing yards line feels low for Rodgers. The quarterback has shown throughout his career he can get 4,000 yards in any given season. So, take the over on this bet on FanDuel.

Giants Player Prop Bet: Saquon Barkley Leads NFL in Rushing Yards (+1400)

Betting on running backs is always a risky move given the injury history. When it comes to Saquon Barkley, it carries even more risk. He has only played in 16 games twice in his five-year career.

The reason to place this bet is simple: the odds are too high on such a talented playmaker. Barkley finished last season as the NFL’s fourth-leading rusher. He was 213 yards away from Nick Chubb in third place. Barkley also did not play in the Giants’ final game of the season with no playoff implications at stake.

In a fully healthy season, Barkley can run the football at a high rate. The halfback is the best playmaker on an offense aiming to be back in the playoffs for a second consecutive season. On top of that, Barkley enters 2023 at the end of a contract dispute with the Giants. With no extension or financial security in New York, the running back should be motivated to build off of a successful 2022 season.

Nick Chubb, Derrick Henry, Jonathan Taylor, and Bijan Robinson all have higher odds than Barkley to lead the NFL in rushing yards. If Barkley is healthy for the entire year, this bet is an easy one to place on FanDuel, especially at those odds.
