“Gang Green” had an offseason that has created many headlines. Naturally, that leads to lots of interest in prop bets on the New York Jets. After a 2022 season where the Jets finished 7-10, there were many holes to fill. Quarterback was a position of need for an underperforming squad that started 2022 6-3.

New York was set in a lot of positions. Defensive back Sauce Gardner and wide receiver Garrett Wilson earned rookie award honors. Gardner received AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, and Wilson received AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Plus, defensive lineman Quinnen Williams totaled 12 sacks and just signed an extension this month.

In April, the Jets knew they had an accumulation of young talent but still needed to address the quarterback position. The 2021 second overall pick in Zach Wilson was not helping New York win games. General Manager Joe Douglas orchestrated a trade and acquired four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers is 39 years old, but has Super Bowl experience and has been to 10 Pro Bowls in his long career. The hype around the Jets, in a packed and talented AFC East, is high after landing one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL now and of all-time. Because of the overall strong hype, sportsbooks have high expectations for the Jets in 2023. Here are three of the best prop bets to place for New York this upcoming season.

NY Jets Prop Bet No. 1: Breece Hall Over 6.5 Rushing TDs (+125)

Drafted in the second round from Iowa State in the 2022 NFL Draft, Breece Hall made an immediate impact in his rookie season a year ago. Hall started two of the Jets’ first seven games, rushed for 463 yards and four touchdowns. Hall tore his ACL midway through the season and was forced to sit the rest of 2022. The talent, though, was seen by all.

Hall is expected to suit up for the first game of 2023 against the Buffalo Bills, and the key with placing this prop is the fact that in just seven games, Hall rushed for four scores. That was an offense with Zach Wilson leading the charge and an unproven Garrett Wilson. This season, Rodgers will attract a ton of attention from opposing defenses with Wilson on one side and former Packers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb on the other.

There are too many weapons on the Jets offense for teams to solely focus on Hall. Expect the tailback to find paydirt at least seven times and place this bet on DraftKings.

NY Jets Prop Bet No. 2: Garrett Wilson Over 1,125 Receiving Yards (-112)

This bet seems safe considering the rookie campaign Wilson had in 2022 as well as the upgrade of Aaron Rodgers. Wilson played in all 17 games last season and started 12, yet the receiver still eclipsed the 1,000-yard marker. Last season, for New York, there were questions at the quarterback position. This year, Wilson will have a more experienced and successful signal caller in Rodgers.

Wilson is also in a wide receiver room with much more depth than last season. With defenses having to focus on other talented receivers in Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, and Mecole Hardman, Wilson should be able to replicate his 2022 season while also gaining enough yards to eclipse the 1,125-yard mark in this bet on FanDuel. Banking on a productive season from Wilson in his sophomore season is an easy choice.

NY Jets Prop Bet No. 3: C.J. Mosley Over 145.5 Total Tackles (-110)

New York Jets’ prop bets aren’t just limited to the offense. C.J. Mosley signed with the Jets before the 2019 season to be a true leader as the middle linebacker. While Mosley had been injured in 2019, and did not play in 2020, his production that past two seasons has been spectacular. In 2021, Mosley racked up 168 tackles. In 2022, Mosley made 158 tackles and was named to the Pro Bowl.

Mosley enters 2023 healthy once again with his running mates Quincy Williams and Jamien Sherwood right next to him. The middle linebacker attacks the gaps well at the line of scrimmage and acts as a second line of defense in the run game.

There is no reason to expect him to not make at least 146 tackles in 2023. Mosley has defeated the health concerns in two consecutive seasons, and he remains one of the most important pieces for this defensive group. This bet, on DraftKings, is a solid one to place.
