The Buffalo Bills had a huge win in Week 2 to avoid any panic among the fanbase.

Behind three passing touchdowns from quarterback Josh Allen, the Bills handled the Las Vegas Raiders 38-10. Running back James Cook added 123 yards on the ground on 17 carries.

Buffalo improved to 1-1 after giving up a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter on Monday Night Football to the New York Jets. With the quick rebound, though, the Bills turn to an NFC opponent that sits at 2-0: the Washington Commanders.

The Commanders took down the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 20-16, then followed that contest up with a thrilling victory over the Denver Broncos. This matchup against Buffalo could be a tough test for Washington.

Two teams with success early in the season go head-to-head on Sunday at 1 p.m. Here are some of the best prop bets to take along with a look at the odds for Bills vs. Commanders.

Bills vs. Commanders Odds: Buffalo (-6.5) vs. Washington

The odds on the Bills to cover -6.5 on FanDuel are not eye popping, but this is the bet to take. The Bills last week showed they can handle opponents offensively, and expect the same to happen this week against the Commanders.

A line of 6.5 is given here mainly because of Washington’s ability to stay in games, but if you look at the opponents it has had thus far, Buffalo is far superior. The Cardinals blew a 21-point lead to the New York Giants in Week 2, and the Broncos sit at 0-2 with both losses by a combined three points.

With Josh Allen leading the charge once again, and Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis out wide, expect the quarterback to get what he wants in the air. We saw Allen make terrific throws against the Raiders, particularly with Gabe Davis for long gains.

Expect the Buffalo offense to build on last week’s performance against the Raiders. Washington has not truly been tested yet in 2023, and Buffalo, as a real contender for the AFC, will be the first team that the Commanders will see that made the playoffs last season. Quarterback Sam Howell is relatively inexperienced as a signal caller in the NFL, so expect the Bills to easily cover in this matchup.

Bills vs. Commanders Odds: We Like the Over (44.5)

The Bills just put up 38 against the Raiders, after only posting 13 against one of the best defenses in the NFL in the New York Jets. Meanwhile, Washington scored 35 points in Week 2.

Howell has shown that he can lead an offense. With receivers Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson, along with tailback Brian Robinson in the backfield, Howell has put up points for the Commanders. On the other side, Allen has shown in the past that he can be elusive when called upon.

A shootout could be in the cards here; we see both teams combining for at least 45 points. Neither defense screams off of the page, and both have holes in the secondary. Expect Allen and Howell to thrive in the aerial attack, thus creating a high-scoring affair. Take this prop bet on DraftKings and enjoy the offenses scoring points left and right.

Josh Allen Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-145)

This bet is an easy one to place. While Allen only threw for one touchdown in Week 1, the quarterback responded in a big way in Week 2 with three. Expect the quarterback to be creating space and throwing all over the field come Sunday.

In last week’s dominant win for Buffalo, it was not Stefon Diggs who put on the big show, but Gabe Davis. With Davis stepping up in the red zone, and other options like the tight end duo of Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox stepping up, there is a surplus of weapons for Allen to find in scoring situations.

Plus, tailback James Cook is Buffalo’s fourth-leading receiver, and offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey can be creative in the red zone by getting Cook running routes in passing situations. Expect Allen to create for his teammates in the open field and throw for multiple touchdowns.
