NFL teams in New York state continue to thrive this season, with each squad sporting winning records. Here’s a look at the Week 7 opening lines for the Giants, and Jets.
The topsy-turvy 2022 NFL season continued with another compelling slate of games last week, and the teams that call New York home continued their surprising starts. Each team pulled off impressive victories last week, with two grabbing outright wins as underdogs. The Bills enjoy their Bye, but the Giants and Jets see themselves as underdogs once again in the Week 7 opening lines.
The Giants and Jets helped underdogs improve to 52-38-3 against the spread this season. The Jets winning in Green Bay furthered the record of road ‘dogs to an impressive 30-21-1, covering at a 58.8 percent clip. The Atlanta Falcons scored an upset victory of their own to improve to 3-3 outright and 6-0 against the spread this season, becoming just the third team this decade to start their season with six straight covers. The Falcons have been underdogs in each game thus far.
The Under also held sway in Week 6, posting a 10-4 mark along the way and reinforcing a season-long betting trend. Unders enter Week 7 with a 56-36 advantage on the Overs, hitting at a 60.9 percent clip in all games so far this season.

Week 7 Opening Lines: Giants at Jaguars
Despite being outplayed by the Baltimore Ravens most of the game, the Giants managed another comeback win last week. New York allowed the Ravens to run up over 200 rushing yards and only forced two punts, but the Giants won the turnover battle and outplayed Baltimore in key spots en route to the 24-20 win.
With another come-from-behind victory last week, the Giants improved to 5-1 on the season. The win helped New York eclipse last year’s win total (4) and marked the team’s best start since 2009. It’s important for the G-Men to remember, though, after starting 5-1 in 2009, they finished the season on a 3-7 skid to finish 8-8.
The Giants travel to Jacksonville (2-4, 2-4 ATS) and see themselves as unlikely underdogs in Week 7’s opening lines. The Jaguars lost their third straight game last week, blowing a 14-3 lead to the Indianapolis Colts in the 34-27 loss. Jacksonville did run up 243 rushing yards in the loss, with three players registering more than 50 yards on the ground.
These teams have played more to the Under this season more often than not, with both seeing the Under hit in four of six games so far. With these offenses likely to lean on their rushing attacks, this game could move quickly and hit the Under once again.

Week 7 Opening Lines: Jets at Broncos
The Jets scored maybe the most unlikely of victories last week, upsetting the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau Field on Sunday. New York flew by the Packers after halftime, outscoring the home team 24-7 over the final two quarters to secure the win. Gang Green limited Aaron Rodgers to just 246 passing yards, sacked him four times, and forced a fumble. The Jets defense continues to carry this young team.
This line started at 3.5-points before the Jets played Green Bay. But following their impressive defensive performance, and another underwhelming one from the Denver Broncos, the spread shifted in New York’s favor. That said, the home team has won three of the past four meetings between these teams. That includes last season’s 26-0 win for the Broncos in Denver.
Denver’s offensive struggles, and the solid nature of these two defenses, point to the Under as a potential play in this game. The Broncos enter 2-4 outright and against the spread, while five of their six games have hit the Under. Denver has yet to cover as the favorite this season. The Jets, meanwhile, enter 4-2 straight up and against the spread, including an impressive 3-0 ATS mark on the road. They’ve played as the underdog in each contest so far.
