The full 2023 NFL schedule has been released and we’ve got some good ones in Week 1. The Giants and the Cowboys will be the Sunday night matchup from East Rutherford. The following night the Bills and the Jets will square off in the exact same spot in what will be a highly anticipated matchup.

Each of these New York teams will come into the 2023-24 season with high expectations. Winning in Week 1 will be critical in setting the tone for the rest of the season.

Giants Underdogs At Home on SNF

The New York Giants surprised a lot of people last year by advancing to the Divisional Round. They’ll take on the Dallas Cowboys to start the season, who also happened to be bounced in the Divisional Round of last year’s postseason.

The Giants recently re-signed quarterback Daniel Jones to a four year deal worth $160 million. The deal means Jones will be wearing a Giants uniform through the 2026-27 season. A lot of people thought the Giants paid Jones too much. Now the quarterback is going to face high expectations this coming season.

The Giants have lost four in a row and 11 of their last 12 to the Cowboys. Last year, the Giants first loss of the season came at home to the Cowboys by the score of 23-16.

Dallas Cowboys-2.5 (-120)O 47 (-110)-135
New York Giants+2.5 (+100)U 47 (-110)+115

This game is expected to be an evenly matched one but NY sportsbooks are still favoring Dallas. The Giants had a bottom 10 defense in the league last season. They’ll have to find a way to stop Dak Prescott, who has beaten the Giants in his last ten starts against them.

Bills Open as Slight Favorites Over Jets

The Bills are opening as 1.5 point favorites in their Week 1 trip to the Meadowlands. This game will feature Aaron Rodgers suiting up in a Jets uniform for the first time ever.

The Bills are expected to be Super Bowl contenders again this season. They’ve lost in the Divisional Round in each of the last two seasons but Josh Allen and company will be attempting to change that trend this time around.

The Bills offense was the second best in the league last year in yards and points per game. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs will be going into year nine of his NFL career and is still an elite player at his position group. Quarterback Josh Allen is tied for the best MVP odds next season at +700.

On the Jets side, It was thought last year that the team was just a quarterback away. The Jets had an incredible 2022 draft class. Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson, and Breece Hall all look like they’re going to be impact players for years to come. Now with the signing of a future Hall of Fame quarterback, the time to win is now.

Buffalo Bills-1.5 (-110)O 48 (-110)-120
New York Jets+1.5 (-110)U 48 (-110)+100

These two teams faced each other last season in the Meadowlands. The Jets came out on top, 20-17. Zach Wilson was under center for New York that game.

NY sportsbooks still like the Bills as a better team as we head towards next season. They are more proven and it remains to be seen how Rodgers will look in a Jets uniform.

Jets running back Breece Hall’s status could impact the spread of this game. Hall tore his ACL in Week 7 of last year while he was having a breakout rookie campaign. The second year running back is on track to return for Week 1 but it’s no guarantee.
