The newest operator to launch mobile sports betting in New York is PointsBet. The first bet was placed just after 10 pm Monday night, according to a release from the operator.
The company has secured final approval from the state’s regulator and will be able go live on their service alongside Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, FanDuel ,Rush Street Interactive & BetMGM among other operators who were also recommended for licenses following an intense tender process that concluded earlier this year.
In a recent development, PointsBet has launched its service in nine US states. The operator is also offering sports betting across New Jersey and Indiana while they are awaiting approval for Iowa’s license to operate as well.
The New York market has been lucrative for mobile sports betting operators, with consumers spending more than $600M during the first nine days of regulated activity.
