Best NFL Week 15 Opening Lines for New York Teams

As the 2022 NFL season shifts to its stretch run, New York state football teams continue to eye the playoffs. The Buffalo Bills are on a roll and hope to lock down their division this week, while the New York Giants and New York Jets hope to stop losing skids. The NFL Week 15 opening lines favor the Bills, but set both the Giants and Jets as underdogs. 

Last week, Underdogs took control once again, as they have more often than not this season. After Favorites went 10-5 against the spread in Week 13, Underdogs posted an 8-5 mark in Week 14. This followed the season-long trend for Underdogs (111-91-6). Overs hit more than Unders last week (7-6), but for the season the Under remains ahead 114-91. 

The NFL’s slate this weekend includes a number of games carrying playoff implications, including the three featuring New York teams. Here’s a look at the Week 15 opening lines for the Bills, Giants, and Jets contests this weekend. 

The Buffalo Bills (10-3, 6-6-1 ATS) topped the Jets in difficult field conditions last week, winning 20-12 and taking full control of the AFC East. The Bills hold a two-game advantage over their Week 15 opponent, the Miami Dolphins (8-5, 6-7 ATS), who come in following a disappointing loss to the Los Angeles Chargers last week. 

The Bills hold the top seed in the AFC and a win on Saturday all but locks up another AFC East title. Buffalo’s defense hounded Jets quarterback Mike White last week despite not having Von Miller. The Bills registered three sacks, seven QB hits and 21 pressures. White was twice knocked out of the game for short periods of time. Now, the Bills welcome a struggling Tua Tagovailoa, who they’ve already knocked from a game this season (though he did return). 

The Bills hold a 7-2-1 mark against the spread in the last 10 games versus the Dolphins in Buffalo. Both the home team and the Underdog are 3-1-1 against the spread in the last five games in this series. Miami’s just 1-5 against the spread in its last six road games. The Over has hit in six of the last seven meetings between these clubs in Buffalo. 

The New York Giants (7-5-1, 9-4 ATS) took a tough 48-22 loss versus the Philadelphia Eagles last week, seeing their division rivals clinch a playoff spot in the process. The Giants have managed just one win over their last six games, nearly squandering the solid start to their season. Now, they travel to the Nation’s capital to face the Washington Commanders (7-5-1, 7-5-1 ATS) with a Wild Card spot on the line. 

Just about everything went wrong for New York last week. The Giants allowed 253 yards rushing, and although Saquon Barkley played, he was limited to just nine carries over 20 snaps. The offensive line surrendered seven sacks. The G-Men simply did not have enough playmakers to hang with the class of the NFC. 

These two teams tied 20-20 in Week 13, setting up this pivotal Week 15 tilt. The Giants enter with a 6-2 mark against the spread over the last eight games in this series and have covered in each of the last four games in Washington. The Underdog covered the spread in four of the last five meetings between these teams, and road team sports a 5-1 mark against the spread in the last six New York-Washington contests. The Commanders are 6-1-1 against the spread in their last eight games overall. 

The New York Jets (7-6, 8-5 ATS) took a tough loss on the road in Buffalo last week, 20-12, despite limiting Josh Allen and the high-powered Bills offense. This loss, and wins by other teams, pushed the Jets out of a Wild Card spot but they can still snap their 11-year playoff drought with wins and some help. They welcome a streaking Detroit Lions team (6-7, 9-4 ATS), one that’s making a push toward the playoffs for the first time in five years. 

The Jets struggled to deal with Buffalo’s pressure last week, and that resulted in Mike White getting sacked three times, hit seven times and pressured 21 times. He went to the sideline twice before returning to the game. New York’s offense has gone cold at the wrong time of the season (two touchdowns in the past two games), and the Jets could be without Quinnen Williams this weekend. 

New York comes to this contest on a two-game losing skid for the first time this season, but the Jets enter 5-0 against the spread in their last five games following an outright loss. The Jets have covered the spread in seven of their last 10 games overall and sport a 5-2 mark against the spread in their last seven games against teams with losing records. The Lions, though, are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 against winning teams and have covered the spread in each of their last six games overall.
