Best NFL Week 14 Opening Lines for Bills v Jets & Giants v Eagles

Heading into the second weekend of December, all three New York state football teams hold winning records and favorable playoff positioning. But things could be different come this weekend, with key divisional battles set to take place. The NFL Week 14 opening lines favor the Buffalo Bills at home versus the New York Jets, while the New York Giants enter as underdogs for their clash with the Philadelphia Eagles. 

Although Underdogs still hold a season-long advantage (103-86-6), Favorites came to play last week, covering the spread in 10 of 15 contests. Home favorites went 6-2 against the spread last week. This upped the Favorites’ season-long ATS record to 86-103-6. As for Point Totals, Week 14 games split 7-7 between the Over and Under. For the season, the Under maintains a 108-84 lead. 

The NFL’s slate this weekend includes a number of games carrying playoff implications, including the two featuring New York teams. Here’s a look at the Week 14 opening lines for the Bills-Jets and Giants-Eagles contests on Sunday. 

Everything broke right for the Buffalo Bills (9-3, 6-5-1 ATS) in Week 13. Not only did the Bills grab a key divisional victory over the New England Patriots 24-10, but Buffalo also saw the Chiefs, Dolphins, and Jets lose on Sunday. That vaulted the Bills to the top of the conference, a spot they look to hold onto with another AFC East showdown on tap. 

The New York Jets (7-5, 7-5 ATS) rallied in Minnesota to make things interesting, but ultimately lost to the Vikings 27-22. Mike White went 31 of 57 for 369 passing yards and scored a rushing touchdown, but also threw two interceptions in his second start of the season. The Jets struggled on third-down conversions (3-for-16) and in red zone situations (1-for-6), settling for five field goals.  

The Jets scored the upset win as underdogs in Week 9 against Buffalo 20-17, something that will surely fuel the Bills for this one. The opening lines for this Week 14 grudge match favor the Bills heavily, with most sportsbooks setting Buffalo as 9- to 9.5-point favorites. The Point Total sits at 44 across the board. 

The Bills enter this one 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games against the Jets in Buffalo. The home team sports a 4-1 mark against the spread in the last five meetings between these clubs. The Under has hit in five of the last seven Bills-Jets ballgames. 

The New York Giants (7-4-1, 9-3 ATS) find themselves clinging to an NFC Wild Card spot following the team’s 20-20 tie with the Washington Commanders in Week 13. The tie stopped New York’s two-game losing streak and helped maintain a slim, half-game advantage over the Commanders in the standings. Should the Giants fall this week, that sets up a pivotal Week 15 battle with Washington where both teams would enter with the same record. 

The Giants host the NFC-leading Philadelphia Eagles (11-1, 7-5 ATS) with playoff positioning on the line. The Eagles have only a one-game lead for the top seed, and a loss to the G-Men would place additional pressure on Philly’s Week 16 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants, meanwhile, hope to end a five-year playoff drought 

The Giants hold a 5-2 advantage against the spread in their last seven games against the Eagles, with each of those games being played as the Underdog. The Under hit in five of the last seven games between these clubs. However, the Over has hit in eight of the last 10 meetings at MetLife Stadium.
