Last week’s action stayed consistent with the season-long betting trends in the NFL. Underdogs went 9-7 against the spread in Week 12, with home ‘dogs posting an impressive 5-1 mark. Home teams went 11-5 against the spread overall, which lifted their season-long record to 87-87-6. As far as Point Totals, the Under has dominated this season, going 101-77 through last week’s slate.

The Bills find themselves as road favorites in the Week 13 opening lines for their game in New England. Road favorites enter this weekend’s schedule just 29-40-3 against the spread (42 percent). The Giants and Jets look like they’ll be underdogs this week, and both teams prefer it that way. The Giants sport a 6-1 ATS mark as an underdog, while the Jets are 5-4 in that spot.

NFL Week 13 Opening Lines: Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots

The Buffalo Bills (8-3, 5-5-1 ATS) escaped on Thanksgiving with a three-point win, though they failed to cover the 9.5-point spread. Their back-to-back wins in Detroit marked the first time since 2016 that a team scored two straight wins at Ford Field. Now, they head to Foxboro for a Thursday Night Football matchup with the New England Patriots (6-5, 6-4-1 ATS).

Recent history in this rivalry favors the Bills. Buffalo’s defeated the Patriots in four out of the last five matchups, including playoffs. The Bills posted 30.4 points-per-game in those contests and topped 30 points in three out of the five. Buffalo’s defense limited the Pats to 16.4 points-per-game over that span. That said, several Bills players missed practice on Monday due to an illness, including three members of the secondary. Buffalo will be without Von Miller and Damian Harris on Thursday night, too.

The Bills come to this contest just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, though they’ve scored outright wins in three of those games. The Under has hit in each of Buffalo’s last four Thursday games, and seven of their last nine games overall. The Bills hold a 5-2-1 edge against the spread in the last eight meetings with the Patriots. New England’s covered in each of its last four games versus AFC opponents. The Under is 6-1 in the Patriots last seven December games.

NFL Week 13 Opening Lines: New York Giants vs Washington Commanders

The New York Giants (7-4, 8-3 ATS) dropped their Thanksgiving Day game in Dallas, and have lost three of their last four overall. This stands as a pivotal game for their playoff odds as they host the surging Washington Commanders (7-5, 7-4-1 ATS) at MetLife Stadium. The G-Men hold a slim half-game lead on Washington in the NFC East standings.

Injuries along the offensive line have short-circuited New York’s solid start to the season. Saquon Barkley has not found the same running lanes of late that were there earlier this season. Barkley managed just 39 rushing yards on Thanksgiving, and have been held to 53 yards or fewer in three of the last four games overall. He faces a Commanders defense that ranks eighth against the run, allowing just 108.5 rushing yards-per-game.

The road team have covered in each of the last five games in this series. The Giants see a 5-2 mark against the spread in the last seven games against Washington. The Under is 18-4 in the last 22 meetings between these clubs in New York. Washington enters this one 4-0-1 against the spread and 4-1 outright in its last five games. The Commanders also have a 4-1 mark against the spread in their last five road games. The Under has hit in four of Washington’s last five games.

NFL Week 13 Opening Lines: New York Jets at Minnesota Vikings

The New York Jets (7-4, 7-4 ATS) scored a dominant win last Sunday, topping the Justin Fields-less Chicago Bears 31-10 at home. Gang Green made a change at quarterback heading into this contest, and Mike White rewarded them with 310 yards passing and three touchdowns. Even Elijah Moore got in the endzone. White spread the ball around to 10 different receivers, but the Jets didn’t come out of that game unscathed. New York saw running back Michael Carter sidelined to an ankle injury.

The Jets face one of their most difficult tasks of the season when they travel to Minnesota for this one. The Vikings (9-2, 5-5-1 ATS) hold a huge lead in the NFC North and topped the Patriots on Thanksgiving, thus the Week 13 opening lines favoring them. Minnesota will have the rest advantage and home field advantage in this one. The Jets will need to get after Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, who’s been sacked 28 times this season, to keep this one competitive. The most compelling in-game matchup here will pit Justin Jefferson against Sauce Gardner.

Although these two teams don’t play very often, the favorites have found most success of late, going 4-1 against the spread in the last five matchups. New York enters 4-1 against the spread in its last five road games. The Under has hit in five of the Jets’ last six games. That said, the Over is 4-0 in Minnesota’s last four home games against a team with a winning road record. The Vikings are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games.
