With the NFL’s Thanksgiving slate on tap, New York bettors see the Bills and Giants set to play on Turkey Day. The Bills and Jets see themselves as favorites, while the Giants enter as underdogs in the Week 12 opening lines.

The NFL saw several upsets on its Week 11 slate of games, including a surprising rout by the Detroit Lions in New York against the Giants. The Bills battled back from an early deficit in their win over the Cleveland Browns, while the Jets couldn’t muster any offense in a disappointing loss to the New England Patriots. All these results factored into the Week 12 opening lines, with playoff positioning at stake.

Sportsbooks continue to update their Super Bowl odds markets. And while the Bills remain behind the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East standings, they stand as favorites across the board.

Favorites found a measure of success this week, covering in seven of the 13 games this week heading into Monday Night Football. That bucks a season-long trend of successful Underdogs, considering their record against the spread remains dominant at 89-68-6. The Under continues to hit more often than not, going 93-68 thus far.

Here’s a look at the best betting odds for the NFL Week 12 opening lines for the Bills, Giants, and Jets.

NFL Week 12 Opening Lines: Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions

The Buffalo Bills (7-3, 5-4-1 ATS) had their entire week upended by bad weather, forcing their Week 11 home game on the road. And although they started slowly, the Bills held on to defeat the Browns 31-23 playing in Detroit thanks to a serious snow storm that blanketed Buffalo this weekend. The Bills get to stay in Detroit this week, as they face the Lions on Thanksgiving as the road team in Ford Field.

The Lions (4-6, 6-4 ATS) scored a surprising upset victory against the New York Giants, but still see a double-digit spread for this one. Detroit’s offense has regained its early season rhythm, posting 31 points in back-to-back contests. The Lions have won three games in a row for the first time since 2017 and can’t be dismissed by a Bills team that’s run hot and cold at times this season.

Most sportsbooks set the opening line for this contest at either nine or 10 points in favor of the Bills. Buffalo sports a 2-2 mark against the spread a double-digit favorite, though 0-1 on the road. The Lions have been an underdog nine times this season (6-3 ATS), but never more than seven points. Considering the offensive capabilities of these squads, it’s no surprise the Point Total has already ticked up from 52.5 to 54.

NFL Week 12 Opening Lines: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

The New York Giants (7-3, 7-3 ATS) fell flat on Sunday, dropping their Week 11 home game against the Lions 31-18. Big mistakes plagued the G-Men, as three turnovers tilted control toward Detroit. It didn’t help New York’s efforts that six players left the game due to injuries. Now, the Giants face a quick turnaround to face their division rivals, the Dallas Cowboys (7-3, 7-3 ATS).

The Cowboys, meanwhile, come to this Thanksgiving Day grudge match after rolling the then-8-1 Vikings in Minnesota. Tony Pollard starred once again for Dallas, scoring two touchdowns and registering nearly 200 yards of total offense. This game remains pivotal in the NFC East race and the G-Men hope to exact a measure of revenge for their 23-16 loss at home to the Cowboys earlier this season.

The opening lines for this contest set Dallas as either an 8.5- or 9-point favorite, depending upon the sportsbooks. The Point Total for this one started near 43, but on some boards it’s ticked up as high as 44.5. The Cowboys sport a 9-2 mark against the spread in the last 11 games in this series. The Over has hit in 10 of the last 13 games between these clubs in Dallas.

NFL Week 12 Opening Lines: New York Jets vs Chicago Bears

The New York Jets (6-4, 6-4 ATS) took perhaps the toughest loss of the NFL Week 11 slate. The Patriots prevailed at home, 10-3, thanks to an 84-yard punt return touchdown by rookie Marcus Jones. That was the first punt returned for a touchdown in the NFL this season. New York’s offense managed just 103 yards and six first downs on the day, including an inexcusable two total yards over seven second half possessions.

What stings the most with this loss is the Jets could have taken possession of first place in the AFC East with a victory, but the defeat dropped them to last place in the division. The loss to the Patriots puts even more pressure on the Jets for Week 12, considering their upcoming schedule.

New York welcomes a rebuilding Chicago Bears (3-8, 4-6-1 ATS) team to MetLife on Sunday. The Bears have lost four in a row, and six of seven overall. Chicago also saw star quarterback Justin Fields absorb a shoulder injury late in the loss. It’ll be interesting to see if Fields plays against the Jets, especially considering the team opted to draft Zach Wilson ahead of him in 2021. While these teams don’t play each other very often, the Bears hold a 5-0-1 record against the spread in their last six meetings.
