The NCAA tournament has been absolute chaos to this point. This year’s Final Four will consist of a four-seed, two five-seeds, and a nine-seed. Florida Atlantic is the nine-seed and will be looking to become the highest seed to ever win a National Championship. The UConn Huskies, who are just a 90-mile drive from Manhattan, now stands as the team to beat.
We’ll take a look at the Final Four matchups and give the best National Championship betting odds.
San Diego State Given Slight Edge In National Semi-Final
The first Final Four matchup will take place between Florida Atlantic and San Diego State. Oddsmakers are giving a slight edge to San Diego State. SDSU is a 5th seed. They got an automatic bid after winning the Mountain West Tournament. The Aztecs had never made it past the Sweet 16 until this year.

Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Florida Atlantic | +1.5 (-102) | +114 | O 131.5 (-110) |
San Diego State | -1.5 (-120) | -137 | U 131.5 (-110) |
Both of these teams could be considered the “Cinderellas” of this tournament. However, San Diego State is getting more respect as the lower-seeded team. They also have a bigger win in this tournament. They beat an Alabama team in the Sweet 16 that was the tournament’s number-one overall seed.
Florida Atlantic has the better record on the year but hasn’t had the standout tournament win that SDSU has. That being said the Owls have had balanced production from their starting five. In their Elite Eight victory over Kansas State, four of their five starters were in double figures.
Hurricanes Are Biggest Underdogs This Saturday
Miami will come in as sizable underdogs for Saturday’s matchup against UConn. This may come as a surprise given the Hurricane’s impressive tournament wins. However, UConn has looked absolutely dominant over their run to the Final Four. Connecticut’s smallest margin of victory was 15 points in a second-round victory over Saint Mary’s. The Huskies knocked off Gonzaga 82-54 to cut down the nets and clinch their first Final Four appearance in nine years.

Miami Hurricane’s point guard Isaiah Wong will be a player to watch in this one. Wong is the team’s leading point scorer and has fared well over his team’s last three games. Nijel Pack is the Hurricane’s top three-point shooter. He went 7-10 from downtown in his team’s Sweet 16 upset victory over Houston.
For Connecticut, it’s been Adama Sanogo and Jordan Hawkins leading the way. Sanogo didn’t have a great Elite Eight but has been efficient during the tournament. Hawkins has gotten his outside shot going. In the win over Gonzaga, he went 6-10 from three.

It’s Connecticut and the rest of the field. NY Sportsbooks have the Huskies in minus money to win the National Championship. UConn was not one of the favorites coming into the tournament but a messy bracket has given them the title of frontrunners heading into the Final Four.
Connecticut has been the most dominant team but if you’re counting on a messy bracket continuing it’s best to stay away from the Huskies. Jim Larranega’s talented squad has faced the toughest path to get to this point. If they are able to beat UConn they would be the favorite in the title game regardless of who they face.
San Diego State and Florida Atlantic each face long odds to win the title. One of these teams will end up lacing them up on Monday night. If we’ve learned anything to this point in the tournament, it’s that it would be silly to count either of them out.
