The Buffalo Bills look to build on recent playoff success and finally break through to the Big Game. The Super Bowl favorites entering 2022 see solid betting odds this preseason.

The Buffalo Bills took part in arguably the greatest playoff game in NFL history last January. But unfortunately for fans and the franchise, they came up about 13 seconds short of another AFC title game. Despite the demoralizing loss, Buffalo enters the 2022 season as betting favorites for the Super Bowl, and bettors find solid betting odds for the Bills.

It’s no surprise the Bills sport the shortest Super Bowl odds for 2022. Buffalo sees talent and depth across the board, with MVP frontrunner Josh Allen calling the shots and the addition of Super Bowl MVP Von Miller to the defense.

While wagering on preseason games can be a tricky proposition, Bills fans and bettors see potentially valuable betting odds for this contest.

Bills, Colts Preseason Betting Odds

A look at the betting odds ahead of the Bills’ preseason opener with the Indianapolis Colts indicates this one is basically a pick ’em. Preseason trends feature a wide variance for bettors, as favorites covered 53.3 percent of the time in 2021, but underdogs covered 60.8 percent of the time in 2019. (There was no preseason in 2020.)

Several New York sportsbooks carry lines and betting odds for this preseason. The Bills opened as 3.5-point favorites for the preseason opener, but news that Matt Ryan will play at least one quarter likely pushed the line in Indy’s favor here.

In addition to these traditional lines, FanDuel offers bettors a Winning Margin (4-Way) wager for this contest. The Bills betting odds for this wager offers value, especially since a Buffalo win by 1-13 points comes with +165 odds. A Bills win by 14 or more points sees +470 odds.

The other options for that wager back the Colts. An Indianapolis win by 1-13 points sees +165 odds, while a Colts victory by 14 points or more sees +420 odds.

Bills Preseason Preview Week 1

Buffalo’s offense features nine returning starters from last season, and the team added an intriguing rookie, running back James Cook from Georgia, to that mix. It’ll be interesting to see how former quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey does now that he’ll fill Brian Daboll’s old offensive coordinator post.

The defense remains an elite under head coach Sean McDermott and defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier. The unit added Miller, the NFL’s active sack leader with 115.5, as well as a first-round talent at cornerback in Kaiir Elam. The defensive line shuffled new talent into the fold, but should remain stout.

With one of the deepest rosters in the league, Buffalo should remain among the NFL elite this season. While Josh Allen probably sits out this contest, veteran backup Case Keenum provides a steady hand to run the offense.

As a result, bettors see intriguing team betting specials for the Bills and other teams ahead of the 2022 season.

Preseason Trends Favor Bills Betting Odds

The Bills have won eight straight preseason contests, including back-to-back perfect preseasons in 2019 (4-0) and 2021 (3-0). Under McDermott, the Bills are 9-2 straight up in the preseason, and have covered the spread in each of their last seven preseason contests.

Buffalo enters this contest 4-1-1 against the spread in its last six games overall. Also, 3-0-1 against the spread at home. Indianapolis has also been good in the preseason under head coach Frank Reich, going 7-3-1 against the spread in his tenure.
