The New York Giants enter the 2022 NFL season with renewed optimism around a new head coach and a revamped offensive approach. The optimism provides intriguing betting odds for the Giants on FanDuel.

The New York Giants stand as one of the cornerstone franchises in the National Football League. Playing in the largest market, the Giants have enjoyed storied successes, but in recent years, the team found itself mired in an extended losing stretch. But heading into the 2022 NFL season, New York feels renewed optimism following the hiring of an offensive-minded head coach. That hope translates to intriguing betting odds for the Giants on FanDuel

New York’s last winning season and playoff appearance came six seasons ago (2016) when the Giants finished 11-5, ultimately losing in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. New head coach Brian Daboll aims to reenergize this franchise around an innovative offensive approach.

Betting the New York Giants on FanDuel might be a tricky proposition, but the team remains optimistic for their 2022 outlook and beyond.

New York Giants Betting Odds on FanDuel

The New York Giants welcome a new era in 2022, as Daboll replaces Joe Judge. It’s another rebuilding project for New York, as the Giants see long odds to win the Super Bowl. The Giants will likely enter most games in this season as underdogs.

At FanDuel, New York’s leader in mobile sports betting handle, the Giants enter the season with the ninth-longest betting odds (+8500) on the sportsbook’s Super Bowl LVII Outright board. Those odds have actually faded from +8000 at the start of the preseason.

The Giants are featured in three of the 15 longest Super Bowl LVII Straight Forecast wagers at the sportsbook. Betting odds on FanDuel for the Giants to beat the New York Jets in the Big Game sit at +100000.

Experts typically focus on defense, as well as offensive line play, when considering keys to a potential championship. But perhaps what affects betting odds at FanDuel and other sportsbooks the most is often production from the offensive backfield.

That production was largely absent for the Giants during last season’s 4-13 campaign, and major questions remain about both quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley.

That said, the Giants could very well make a run for the postseason considering at least one NFL team has gone “worst-to-first,” winning its division the season after finishing last or tied for last place in 17 of the last 19 seasons.

Despite the tweet, FanDuel remains pessimistic on the Giants’ other betting odds this preseason. New York’s merely +700, or 7-to-1, to win the NFC East division this year at the sportsbook.

FanDuel even favors New York to miss the playoffs (-290), and list the odds the Giants make the postseason at +225.

Individual Giants Futures on FanDuel

Betting individual futures for Giants players on FanDuel might be a more profitable approach than backing the team as a whole to win big in 2022. The team features a number of intriguing players who might provide bettors with potential value this season.

FanDuel lists a number of season-long player props for the Giants presumed starting quarterback Daniel Jones. The sportsbook set his passing yards total over-under at 3449.5 (-112), with his passing touchdowns figure at 22.5 (Over -102/Under -126). Bettors even see a rushing yards total for Jones 374.5 (-112) heading into the season as well.

Giants starting running back Saquon Barkley also sees several player props. He’s primed for a bounce-back season and could provide betting value for Giants fans on FanDuel. While he’s a +4000 longshot to lead the NFL in rushing next season, FanDuel set his rushing yards total at 900.5 for 2022. The Over for that prop sits at -118, while the Under’s at -108. His rushing touchdowns total at the sportsbook is 6.5, with the Over at -164 and the Under at +128.

Other intriguing Giants player props for betting consideration at FanDuel involve some of their rookies. The Giants selected two players in the top-10 of the 2022 NFL Draft and one of them, edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, stands with solid odds (+700) to win Defensive Rookie of the Year honors this season. Thibodeaux’s also listed on the AP Defensive Player of the Year board, but he’s an extreme longshot with +25000 odds.
